This mural is located in downtown Shreveport Louisiana on the sides of the AT& T building located on the corner of Cotton and McNeill Streets. Note that the main mural is on the backside of the building. The secondary mural is located on the Cotton Street side.

Take note that the GPS coordinates are not on the building itself but at a viewing station seen in the foreground of picture one and two (take note it is seen behind the small tree in the lower left corner of picture number two. This is the best place to view the mural even though it can be seen for a long distance away as demonstrated in picture number five. This picture, even though not real clear and sharp, was taken from across the river in Bossier City and demonstrates the magnitude of this fine mural.

The viewing station is very important as there are two captions telling about the mural. The “paint by number” caption is in picture number six. The following is taking from the other one (the one in picture number five):

..................During the first two months of the Millennium Yar, Meg Saligman and the staff of the Shreveport Regional Arts Council met with more than 75 organizations, interviewed hundreds of individuals about their ideas and heritage, photographed thousands of people for the mural and read every book written about this area!
Meg’s painting plan involved more than 2,600 people! She perfected a “paint by number” grid that is applied to sheets of plastic cloth. Once painted the cloth is “floated in acrylic” on the wall, much like wallpaper installation. Paint Parties were held all over Shreveport! Festival sites, parks, club meetings, art galleries, bank lobbies, and schools became home to paint sessions. The public commitment to work on the mural was awesome! More than 40% of the total mural has been painted by the community........................................

There is a second caption displaying the paint by number grid, their numbers and captions below giving information on each “grid.” Take note of the ‘tree trunk” painted into the corner of the building corner.

As evidenced by the pictures there is easy parking available at the viewing station.
