This historic district encompasses most of the downtown area of Hiawatha, Kansas surrounding the Brown County Courthouse. Most of the buildings in the district were built in the 1890's and early 1900's. The courthouse was built in 1925, replacing an earlier one on the same site. Besides the courthouse one of the highlight buildings is the Town Clock Building, which is a 1891 former bank building.
