At 10.9 m. the road bends, and lovely CHRISTINE FALLS comes into view. The falls was named for the daughter of P.B. Van Trump, who with Hazard Stevens, made the first successful ascent of the mountain in 1870. p. 583 from the Mt. Rainier "Park Tour 1"

The falls is a beautiful 3 part tiered horsetail falls with the center portion falling 75 feet. From the trail down below the bridge, you can see the lowest portion of the falls framed by the bridge (likely constructed by the CCC), a registered National Historic Place.
