The Tjörn bridge (Swedish: Tjörnbron) is a cable-stayed bridge which together with two smaller bridges connects Stenungsund on mainland Sweden with the island Tjörn on the western coast of the country. The length is 664 m, the span width 366 m, and the height above the water is 45 m.
The bridge was inaugurated 1981, one and a half year after its predecessor fell down because of a ship collision. This happened in January 1980, and eight people were killed as cars drove over the empty edge. That bridge was also called Almöbron, and was built year 1960.
