The Sugar River Trail is also a portion of the Ice Age Trail that extends around much of Wisconsin. The Sugar River Trail uses the old bed of the Milwaukee Line. This rail line was nicknamed the Limburger Special after the cheese that it hauled out from this area. The only limburger cheese production plant still operating in the United States is located a few miles away.
