This park features a six-foot tall statue of the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., and a fountain containing the names of people involved in the civil rights movement. The park was created by the Martin Luther King Celebration Committee, and was dedicated on April 4, 1991.
It is located in the southwest quadrant of the intersection of Martin Luther King Blvd. and Rock Quarry Road. To reach from Interstate 40/440 on the south side of Raleigh, take Exit 300 (Rock Quarry Road). Proceed north about one mile to the park on the left.
There is no admission charge, and off-street parking is available. There are benches for sitting, but no restrooms. Visitors are welcome 365 days a year, during daylight hours. Special events are held annually on Dr. King's birthday.
