This Veterans Memorial is located in front of the Deschutes County Court House in Bend, Oregon. This memorial is consists of a plaque and flagpole dedicated in 1941 and stone monument and plaque dedicated in 2005.
The flagpole plaque reads “Presented to Deschutes County in memory of departed comrades. Pondosa Pine Post No. 1643 Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S.A. Bend 1941 Oregon
The stone monument reads “The willingness with which our young people are likely to serve in any war, no matter how justified shall be directly proportional as to how they perceive the veterans of earlier wars were treated and appreciated by their nation. - George Washington”
The plaque reads “This place of rest dedicated to the women and men of the armed services and all the first responders who have stepped forward and chosen to place themselves in harm’s way to protect our way of life in this community, state, and nation. Dedicated by Deschutes County 2005”
