Ramsons smells like garlic, especially when leaves are rubbed, because it is a wild relative of chives. On one side of the path are Ramsons, and on the other side bluebells. Both looking wonderful in the spring sunshine. Both plants growing only where th sunlight can reach the woodland floor. Stock Park is public access woodland since Victorian times.

The specific name derives from the fact that brown bears like to eat the bulbs of the plant and dig up the ground to get at them, as do wild boar. (wikipedia) (visit link)
