This theater is one of the region's more robust ones, according to an online theater log. It's been around for quite some time, and celebrated its 50th birthday in 2001.
This theater has been a favorite movie venue for the locals throughout his history here, and is still going strong. Every weekend it's open, cars flock to the theater to pay $6.00 / person to see a double-feature, socialize, tailgate, and sometimes even have family parties at the theater!
This theater's big screen has even made it to the big screen: the drive-in scenes in the movie Freak were filmed here at the Auburn-Garrett Drive In!
The sound is no longer broadcast over stand speakers (although the stands are still there, probably to designate parking spaces) but is broadcast over FM 88.7. On a good night, Garrett residents can hear the two movies that are being shown that night!
(Open & close dates listed below are APPROXIMATE, since the theater is open as soon as it's feasible, and stays open as late in the year as weather permits.)
