Geronimo is buried in the main Apache Cemetery which is located near where he camped when first arriving at Fort Sill. The allegation is that Prescott Bush and five other Army Captains held a midnight raid in 1918 into the graveyard and stole the skull from Geronimo's grave.
Apache tribesmen from Arizona recived an unsolicited letter advising them that the skull was located in the Skull and Bones Society house near Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. The raid is recorded in the Skull and Bones history dated 1933. Officers from the society state that they have a skull they call Geronimo but it is actually a child's skull. Officials at Fort Sill doubt the story because the grave is covered by concrete and a granite pyramid that have not been disturbed.
Come see for yourself and be sure to note the sage and medicine bundles hanging from the overhead tree limbs. There are also bandanas and many other tokens.
