Trading Post, emigrant stop and mining camp of the 1850's. This became one of the remount stations of the Central Overland Pony Express. Here at the Nevada House on April 13, 1860, Rider William (Sam) Hamilton changed horses while carrying the first west-bound mail of the pony express from St. Joseph, Missouri, to Sacramento, California.
Visit Instructions:

2) The standard rules apply: a photo of the goal and one of your GPS unit - no vacation photos or web downloads will be accepted.
3) Include the coordinates of the location and the name of the city or town in your log.
4) Feel free to include as much history as you'd like. Educate us!
