Arthur's is a funky little diner perched on the edge of a canal near the center of downtown Lowell. If you're looking for an immaculate eating establishment go elsewhere, but if you're looking for the most unique breakfast sandwich in the area or probbaly anywhere check it out.
Parking is abysmal, service is what can be expected for a diner that seats about 20-25 people that serves the specialty of the house the "Boot Mill" 5 or 6 at a time. If you're going to eat here plan on waiting close to an hour to get a table between the hours of 6 and 11 am, but they do take phone orders.
Ok, now for the details, the specialty is the Boot Mill sandwich. This delectable concoction predates the Egg Mc'muffin by several decades. It consists of egg, home fries, cheese, and your choice of bacon, ham,or sausage on a grilled bulkie roll. The unique thing is that the home fries are part of the sdandwich. Ok, it's a grease fest but the best kind, and I'm telling you the line goes out the door for hours on end at this place. When you stay that sucessful for 55 years plus you must be doing something right, right?
