This tunnel was built 1893 for the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad or Katy as it was called. The tunnel is 243 feet long and is located just west of Rocheport. The tunnel is partially brick lined, partially stone and mortar lined and partial natural. The railroad right of way along with the tunnel have been converted to the Katy Trail a popular 225 mile bicycle trail in Missouri.
