This is the cemetery of the Ghost town, Columbus. The entrepreneur Sam Hill purchased land in the area to form a Quaker community named Maryhill. He built a mansion on the bluffs of the Columbia Gorge but his plans for Maryhill never came to fruition. This small cemetery and an old church are all that remain of Columbus. The area is called Maryhill but its zipcode is actually for the town of Goldendale, 10 miles North of the area.
The cemetery is located down the hillside from the Stonehenge WWI Memorial. Tombstones date back to the 1850s and there are about 75 graves here.
