With its large fountain and colorful tiles overlooking the Mississippi River, this plaza is a great place to relax after the Aquarium or before heading into the Riverfront Marketplace, feeling the spray of the fountain and watching the people and river traffic pass on by.

Up on the levee overlooking the Mississippi River, at the downriver entrance to Riverwalk Marketplace, is this pretty plaza dedicated to the City of New Orleans by Spain in 1976. A large fountain is surrounded by a bench inlaid with colorful azulejo tiles depicting the crests for each of Spain’s provinces. This is a great place to relax, feeling the spray of the fountain and watching the people and river traffic pass on by.
