This shoe tree was started late in 2003 when a local woman spoke with a town official about putting the Town on the map. This was her idea after seeing a shoe tree on the highway north of Reno, Nevada. The town official said "Go for it". And that's how this tree was started. The tree seems to have it's seasons confused. It doesn't show-off it's "fruit" until fall and winter. This living tree holds all different types of footwear including cowboy boots, swim fins, hip waders, thongs (flipflops), slippers and high heels.
