Southland Center opened in 1970 at the corner of Eureka and Pardee Roads in Taylor, MI. The original property has been expanded many times over the years. In 1993, a food court with a pyramid-shaped glass atrium was added to the south end of the mall. In the late 1990s, the theater was closed and soon replaced with Borders Books & Music. In 2006, the food court was renovated into a Best Buy. The mall currently has 108 stores including four anchors (JCPenny, Macy's, Borders Books & Music and Best Buy).
