This is one of two water towers owned by the Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County. The way point is located at 5th and Allegheny Avenues. The water tower was built in 1977 and refurbished in 1997 for $1.0 million. The other tower was built in the late 1980's These water towers supply water to the communities in Southern Westmoreland and Northern Fayette Counties.
