In 1869, land was purchased by the town with the intention of building a memorial town hall in honor of the more than 200 men from Naples, who served in the Civil War. Many of these men did not come home. The town wanted something that was useful and ornamental, in lieu of the customary soliders' monument. A large 2 storied and basement brick building was completed November 16,1872. It is no longer the town hall but is used as a meeting hall. It is listed in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
