The Little Brown Church was founded in 1855 and was made famous by William Pitt's song "The Church in the Wildwood". The song was written before the church was built. The church was built and painted brown before the song was published.
This famous church now performs over 100 weddings per year. The first weekend in August of each year the church holds their Annual Reunion Celebration, which draws over 500 people to renew their marrage commitment to each other.
