This classic carousel, located between Gourmet Pantry and Pooh's Corner, was handcrafted in Italy. The Carousel opened on November 12, 1999 and features 19 horses, a spinning tea cup and two carriages. It's decorated with hand painted renderings of 20 Marketplace locations and is illuminated at night by about 570 miniature light bulbs. The carousel has a height restriction of 42 inches. Guests who do not meet this requirement must be accompanied by an adult.

If you're looking to shop for all things "Disney" or just want a break from the theme parks, the Marketplace is a terrific destination. There's a great selection of shops and restaurants located here. All of the Walt Disney World resorts offer transportation to Downtown Disney.

The best time to visit Downtown Disney is during the day. As evening approaches, be prepared for crowds, particularly on weekends.

Other activities at the Marketplace include boat rentals at the marina. Water Mouse boats are small two-seater speed boats that can be rented for about $20 per half hour. The minimum age to drive is 14, and the driver must be at least 5 feet tall. There is also a small train, which young children can ride with the purchase of a ticket. The train is similar to what you would see at your local shopping mall, but kids seem to love it!
