Specialist Fourth Class Daniel D. Fernandez, Medal of Honor recipient for action during the Vietnam War. On February 18, 1966 in Cu Chi Hau Nghia Province in Viet Nam, while in the midst of a heavy fire fight, Fernendez threw himself on a grande that had landed in the middle of his platoon, sacrificing himself but allowing the others to live. He is buried in Sec S, # 246 in the Santa Fe National Cemtery.
A picture of me in the cemetery the day this was marked can be found in the Medal of Honor posting for Y.B. Rowdy.
