DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1975 (JCL) THE STATION IS THE APEX OF THE OBSERVATION CABIN OF THE APALACHEE GEORGIA STATE FOREST SERVICE FIRE LOOKOUT TOWER. IT IS A STANDARD FIRE OBSERVATION CABIN ATOP A FOUR-LEGGED, SKELETON STEEL TOWER, GRAY IN COLOR AND APPROXIMATELY 100 FEET HIGH. LOCATED 1.2 MILES NORTHWEST OF THE SMALL COMMUNITY OF APALACHEE, 0.2 MILE WEST OF U.S. HIGHWAY 129 AND 75 FEET NORTH OF A DIRT ROAD.
