The present church building was dedicated in November 1909. The building has received remarkable good care since then and the church continues to be relevant and healthy in downtown Aberdeen.
Whereas many "older downtown" churches are suffering membership loss and structural decay, First UMC is a vital congregation with many community outreach programs. Sunday morning worship has an average attendance of 800; Sunday School is alive and growing with average attendance of 475.
Tiffany-like windows are a special blessing in the sanctuary.
They were placed in our church building in 1909, when the church was dedicated
The Chapel of the Apostles is located on the north side of the church. It is used for music programs - Children's Choir, Chancel Choir, Bell Choir and Methodist Brass.
The lives of the Apostles are depicted in the faceted glass windows. The final window is the Bishop, which represents all the apostles of today.
A new Prayer Chapel was completed in 2005
