This beautiful Catholic Church was constructed in 1883 of local brown sandstone. A lightning strike in 1916 caused a damaging fire, but the walls, steeple, and stained-glass windows survived. Another lightning strike in 2003 struck the steeple; the fire was contained but water damage to the interior was extensive. The Church has since been completely renovated. The church is Gothic in architectural style with the following dimensions: 100 feet in length; 47 feet in width; 34 feet high walls and a 154 feet high steeple, which is the highest point in the city.
