This cemetery, like many of the older cemeteries here in Clarksville, TN has many well known people interred here, such as Martin Van Buren Ingram, the author of the first "Bell Witch" book, Austin Peay, the first Governer of TN to die in Office, Frank Spencer Sutton, Sgt Carter of "Gomer Pyle" fame, and SFC James “Tre” Ponder who died June 28, 2005 fighting our war on terror in Afghanistan.
