The KD8EAD tower is located approximately 6 miles east of Chillicothe, just north of US-50, and adjacent to Tar Hollow State Forest. Tower base is at 1100 feet elevation and rises to 70 feet above the ridgeline. The tower hosts an APRS telemetry site providing solar panel voltage and ambient temperature data.

This site is unique for the area, in that it is 100% powered by solar energy via an array of solar panels. Deep-cycle batteries provide for power storage. All equipment is 12 volt DC.
