Aristides as a three-year old, won the first Kentucky Derby in 1875 and went on to finish second in the Belmont Stakes the same year. In 1875 Derby, Aristides was ridden by Oliver Lewis and owned by K. P. McGrath. During his racing career he race 21-times, with a record of 9-wins, 5-places, and 1-show. His career winnings were $18,325. Aristides died on June 21, 1893.
