The remains of this Roman farm house dating from the 2nd century A.D. were discovered in 1971 by Wolf-Dieter Forster and Micahel-Adolf Benzin.

The farm house was overrun by the Alemmanic tribe in 234 A.D. and named "Mäuerech" by them to identify their prize. Prior to the excavations, pieces of stone and sherds where turning up here.

The basement appeared in remarkably good condition 1700 years after the retreat of the Romans.
