NL / BE Davids werd geboren in de Raamstraat in Rotterdam als zoon van de komiek en caféhouder Levie David (1857-1906) en Francina Terveen (1858-1927) in een arm Joods gezin van vier kinderen. Zijn ouders traden op met komische duetten, en Louis zong als 8-jarige al op kermissen met zijn broer Hartog (Hakkie) op de piano. Tot rond zijn 13de trad Louis vaak met zus Rebecca (Rika) op in Rotterdam.
UK / US Davids was born in the Raamstraat in Rotterdam as the son of the comedian and café owner Levie David (1857-1906) and Francina Terveen (1858-1927) into a poor Jewish family of four children. His parents performed comical duets, and Louis already sang at fairs with his brother Hartog (Hakkie) on the piano at the age of 8. Until around the age of 13 Louis often performed with sister Rebecca (Rika) in Rotterdam.
