Mount Misery Cross is just one of a number of granite crosses that marks the route of the Monks’ Path. This is the ancient name given to the track that links the Buckfast Abbey with those at Tavistock and Buckland. The cross stands at 5 feet 7 inches tall 2 feet 4 inches across the arms. The area is said to have got its name from the harsh weather conditions on this hill.
