At Humboldt, Starnes' detachment of Forrest's Brigade captured both railroads running into town, destroyined track, trestles and rolling stock and burned stores and munitions. Meanwhile Forrest, with commands of Biffle (19th Tenn. Cav.) and Cox (2nd Tenn. Cav. BN.) passed northward and captured Trenton.
