This time capsule was placed on March 11, 1989 to celebrate the town of Blowing Rock, NC being incorporated for 100 years. It is to be opened in 100 more years on March 11, 2089, the 200th anniversary of the towns incorporation.
It is located in a city park just off Main Street (also Highway 321).
