Located in Byrd Park just south of the Carillon, Barker Field is Richmond's first off-leash dog park. It has a 4 foot enclosed fence with 2 areas- one for small dogs and the other for all sizes. The hours are from sunrise to sun set and closes for special events (eg: 4th of July).
Currently the Friends of Barker Field (visit link) are working with the city to develop new rules. When they become official, they will be posted here.

The park is maintained by those who visit it, so even though doggy-bags are supplied, you might want to bring along some extra plastic bags in case they are out.

The park is busiest after work and on weekends, so you may want to factor this in to your visit.
