This historic marker is located on U. S. Route 11 in Lacey Springs, Virginia. The marker stands near the site of the Lincoln Inn, which was operated by relatives of Abraham Lincoln. President Lincoln's father, Thomas, was born about four miles north of the marker in 1778.
The text of the marker reads:
ABRAHAM LINCOLN'S FATHER
"Four miles west, Thomas Lincoln, father of the president, was born about 1778. He was taken to Kentucky by his father about 1781. Beside the road here was Lincoln Inn, long kept by a member of the family."
