Despite a sign stating that handguns are not allowed in the restaurant, a child found an unattended gun in the bathroom of La Baguette.

A 3-year-old made a shocking discovery inside a metro restaurant that's enough to make any parent upset -- a loaded handgun in the restroom.
The restaurant, located near May Avenue and Grand Boulevard, has a sign on the door that reads, "No handguns," but a customer brought one in anyway and left it behind by mistake.
"I got a call from my daughter, and she was quite alarmed." Dennis Pealor said.
Pealor told KOCO 5 that his daughter's family was eating brunch Sunday at La Baguette when his son-in-law escorted their 3-year-old to the bathroom.
"Immediately, she points to this item on the toilet paper holder and says, 'Daddy. What's that?'" Pealor said.
According to a police report, a semi-automatic handgun was found in the stall. The report states that a 77-year-old man from Duncan used the restroom and left the restaurant, forgetting the weapon was in there.
"Disbelief, at first, at how someone could be so irresponsible," Pealor said.
According to Pealor, the restaurant manager secured the gun and immediately called police. He said he doesn't blame the restaurant and is thankful his granddaughter and no one else was hurt.
Pealor, however, said this about the gun owner.
"I think we all have the right to bear arms, but we have to be responsible with it," Pealor said.
KOCO 5 spoke with the man who left the gun in the stall. He said it was his fault.
Police said they are still investigating but, at this point, they don't believe any crime was committed.
KOCO 5 received the following statement from the restaurant, saying in part, "La Baguette will continue in its long tradition of providing the finest food and beverages at reasonable prices in a safe and enjoyable environment."
