Memorial to the writer Daniel Bartels in the inner courtyard of the Daniel-Bartels-Hof in Hamburg's Barmbek district.
The memorial is a former fountain made of red brick with a small plaque and four bronze plates with crickets.
It says (translated) on the plaque:

To the poet of the Cricket Scarecrow in memory

Daniel Tobias Peter Bartels (* 18. November 1818 in Lübeck; † 13. June 1889 in Hamburg) was a writer from Hamburg.
Bartels published stories and poems in various newspapers, the latter mostly in Low German. His poems were intended "for reading in social circles".
His main work - Der Grillenscheucher, original poems to the lecture in sociable company appeared 1867.
