The Cordell Public Library is a one-story brick building constructed in 1981. It is located on the southwest corner of S. College and W. Clay. The library is part of the Western Plains Library System which covers Custer, Washita, Dewey and Roger Mills Counties. This is a full service public library with online catalog and internet facilities. Throughout the year, the library has various events for children and adults.

The building is T-shaped, running east-west with a wing to the north. A bronze plaque at the entrance to the building reads:
