"Während des Dreißigjährigen Krieges zerstörten Tillys Truppen die Burg und töteten dabei alle Bewohner. Der Sage nach fürchtete das Burgfräulein Hilde um Ehre und Leben und stürzte sich vom Burgturm in den Tod. Allerdings konnte niemand glauben, dass die schöne Hilde nicht mehr am Leben sei, und es begann sich bald Geheimnisvolles um ihre Person zu ranken. So soll sie im Inneren der Burgruine in einem Gewölbe weiterleben. Alljährlich zur Jahreswende springt um Mitternacht das Gewölbe auf und sie tritt heraus. Dabei trägt sie ein weißes Gewand und ebenso einen weißen Schleier vor ihrem Gesicht. In der rechten Hand trägt sie einen Krug. Mit demselben schreitet sie bis zum ersten Haus der nahen Ortschaft Eichelburg. Allerdings betritt sie den Ort nie. Im nahen Schöttleinsweiher füllt sie ihren Krug auf und verschwindet wieder in der Burgruine. Bevor sie das tut, betet sie am weißen Kreuz für das Seelenheil der unschuldig Ermordeten."

"During the Thirty Years' War, Tilly's forces destroyed the castle, killing all residents. According to the legend, the castle mistress Hilde feared for honor and life and plunged from the castle tower to his death. However, no one could believe that the beautiful Hilde was no longer alive, and it soon began to entwine mystery around her person. So she should live inside the castle ruins in a vault. Every year at the turn of the year, the vault jumps at midnight and she comes out. She wears a white robe and a white veil in front of her face. In her right hand she is carrying a pitcher. With the same she proceeds to the first house of the nearby village Eichelburg. However, she never enters the village. In the nearby Schöttleinsweiher she fills up her pitcher and disappears back into the castle ruins. Before she does that, she prays on the white cross for the salvation of the innocent murdered."
