Facing toward the house at 602 Harthan Street in Austin, TX 78703, a cluster of medallions, markers and plaques are mounted on the porch wall in public view. There is an Austin City Landmark plaque, a THC Texas Historical Medallion, this Texas Historical Marker, and a National Register of Historic Places marker, all mounted vertically at the left corner of the front porch where the porch turns and runs along the side of the house a short distance.

Marker Text: Built 1875-1876 by A.J. Jernigan, Travis County treasurer, 1873-1888 and 1894-1896; of handmade, sun dried brick in transitional style between Greek Revival of 1840's and Victorian Period, 1880's-1890's.
Name - meaning "The Windows" - is for imaginatively pedimented windows and doors unique in this area, similar to Georgian homes near Washington D.C.
Originally facing south, entry is now "Charleston-style," on Harthan Street.
