Plaque on Stagecoach:

As of 1870, the westward H&TC railroad line ended in Burton, and travelers rode stagecoaches to destinations such as Austin and San Antonio. So until the track was completed from Burton to Austin in December 1871. stagecoaches would have bee a common sight at the Burton Depot... carrying people and mail westward.

This stagecoach is a 1960 replica of the 1855 model Abbot & Downing western style coach - a stagecoach similar to those that traveled through Burton. In 2007, it was donated to the Burton Heritage Society by the University of Texas-Winedale from the Ima Hogg Collection, and was built by Six Flags for parades."
