The little community book exchange unit along Ethridge Ave. has a shelf below which most novels, textbooks or children's readers can fit, and above which larger oversized books or magazines can be placed flat on the shelf. There is not enough room to stand up a second row, but plenty of room to read the spine of a larger book laid flat. At the time of taking photos for posting, there was one book on sailing ships that was too tall and too wide to fit inside at all. It was set on the flat roof on the outside of the box! This bring up the common sense point that although these free book exchanges encourage folks to Take A Book: Leave A Book, please be mindful that if the book doesn't fit inside the box at all, then it is best not to leave it. Try to find a different sized little library unit into which the book will fit so as not to get ruined by the weather or animals. One a lighter note, the outside of the library unit was nicely painted and on at least the side facing the yard are colorful hand prints place there by the children who certainly must have had a part in this family project of sponsoring this Little Free Library.

The concept of the Little Free Library is for people within a community to stop by the unit and examine the selection of books at that time. If you see a book you'd like to read, feel free to take it out and take it with you. If you have books at home that you have already read, you are encouraged to take these books to a Little Free Library and donate them into any little library's book selection. This concept is summarized as: Take A Book: Return a Book. Feel free to take a book you want to read, and feel free to return a book/add a book to this exchange unit or any others you know of. Your contribution of books keeps the sections varied and keeps the little libraries filled with book for others. Its is a win-win situation.
