The trailhead of the Pearsall Park Hike and Bike Trail is found east of the first parking lot into Pearsall Park at 4838 Old Pearsal Rd. San Antonio, TX 78242. This is a short drive south of the junction of Old Pearsall Road and SW Military Dr. (TX-13) in southwest San Antonio, TX. It is south of the JBSA Kelly Field Annex. The trailhead has a set of several informational signboards, a bathroom (Port-a-Potty), a water fountain, and this medallion showing the location and altitude data. The trail appears to at least a 1.5 mile long trail that follows the park's property line along the back side of the park.
There are a dozen or so geocaches placed along this hike and bike trail and dotted around the other sections within this park in general. Some geocaches range from very easy to extremely difficult.
Some highlights to this park includes a Skate Park, a Splash Park, multiple picnic areas, a dog park divided into Large Dog and Small Dog sections, and an 18 hole Disc Golf Course that is very well made. There are three entrances into this very large park area, this trailhead being in the "first" entrance. The middle has a vey large parking area and is the easiest entrance use to get to the picnic areas, skate park, splash park and a few other attractions. The farthest (third) entrance takes you to the dog park and the 18 hole disk golf course.
