The Aina B. Blake Dog Park is found at 134 Athenian Dr., Universal City, TX 78148 and shares a parking lot with the Universal City Animal Care & Control clinic. The dog park is at north end, the animal clinic is on the south end and the parking is in between and shared by both. The address works if your enter San Antonio, TX instead of Universal City, but technically it is in the incorporated city of Universal City.

The dog park was opened in 2011 and has been improved over the years to facilitate both pets and pet owners. There are doggie watering holes designed as fire hydrants on both the Large Dog side and the Small Dog side of the dog park. Trees offer shade for the pets and covered pavilions offer rest and shade to their people friends. At the double gated entrance into the dog park, signage is mounted on the wire fence reminding the citizens that there are laws about keeping your dog on a leash when outside of the park fence AND laws requiring the pet owners to pick up/bag up the dog poop and disposing of it properly. There is a walking path circling both the buildings and the dog park for those who would like to walk their dog on a leash while strolling this footpath. However, there are no play areas or playground equipment for human children available at or near this dog park.

Within 267 feet or so of the dog park entrance, there is a geocache found along the footpath that circles the dog park and the office buildings sharing the parking lot. Look up the geocache GC3Z0MD titled "Adopt Me!" on geocaching.com (see link below). It is behind the row of buildings, between the pathway and the fences of the property owners nearby.

Within sight of the main gates into the dog park, at the other end of the general parking lot area connecting them is the Universal City Animal Care & Control clinic. At the entrance to this business establishment is a Little Free Library where you may be interested in borrowing a paperback book to read while letting your dog have a run about the dog park. Please get the book before entering the dog park and unleashing you pet. This Little Free Library operates on a Take a Book: Return a Book concept. You are invited and encouraged to take a book with you to read. After you read the book you are encouraged to return it to this unit or any other neighborhood Little Free Library book exchange unit.

Level of Enclosure: Completely Enclosed Description of Enclosure: The dog park is completely enclosed with heavy gauge chain link fencing. The entrance is double gated so you can enter the first gate with your dog, then close the first gate and make the choice to open the second gate into either the Large Dog side of the park or the Small Dog side of the park. Inside the park the same heavy gauge chain link fencing divides the park area into two sub-parks to keep the small dogs safety apart from the large dogs. Inside each side are concrete walking paths that allow people to walk around within their chosen section without going onto the grass/ground. Both parts of the park have covered pavilions for the people and hydrant shaped watering holes. There are shade trees in parts of the park, with some areas open to full sun. Both sides have ample room for dogs to run and frolic.
