BL1169 - "R 88" bench mark disk - The Woodlands, TX - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

As described by the NGS in 1973 (although already monumented by the CGS back in 1932):

"[...] SET IN THE TOP CENTER OF THE WEST CONCRETE HEADWALL TO A LARGE DOUBLE 36-INCH PIPE CULVERT UNDER THE RAILROAD, 138.6 FEET WEST AND ACROSS THE TRACKS FROM THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE CONROE TELEPHONE CO. - RIVERBROOK EXCHANGE, BRICK BUILDING, 13.2 FEET WEST OF THE WEST RAIL, AND ABOUT 2 FEET BELOW THE LEVEL OF THE RAIL."

The NGS description is still pretty accurate, and so are the distance estimates from the rail tracks and the old brick building.

The NGS' currently posted coordinates ("N 30 14 03.5 W 095 27 20.0") seemed reasonably accurate as well: my measurements were "N 30° 14.058 W 95° 27.334" based on 10+ readings within 10' accuracy.

The station was recovered in good condition.
