Charley Ellis Boyd Cabaniss was a Washita County district judge. He was born 1/10/1947 and died in a car accident on Highway 183 on 10/31/2006. As Cordell is the Washita County Seat, Judge Cabaniss worked out of the local courthouse. He is buried in Clinton Cemetery.
On the north side of Lee Park, an oak tree is planted. Beneath the tree, a granite marker reads:
