* "Work conquers all"
Opened in 1906 under the name Cordell Academy of the Reformed Church in America, it began with 65 students who each paid tuition of $6.00 per Quarter. The school continued for five years, when the Board of Domestic Missions of the Reformed Church determined there wasn't enough growth of church members, and the church retired from Oklahoma. It continued one additional year under leadership of the Southern Presbyterian Church, and was then sold to the City of Cordell.
