[DE] "Der Taufstein besteht aus Stenzelberger Latit. Sechs kleine Säulenschäfte aus schwarz polierter Basaltlava tragen das Becken. Ein schmuckvoller Blattfries umläuft die Kuppa. Der Taufstein ist das einzige Werkstück der Andernacher Bauhütte aus der Bauzeit der Kirche zu Beginn des 13. Jahrhunderts. Im 19. Jahrhundert wurde ein historisierter Deckel hinzugefügt. Der Taufstein stand seither in der Kapelle des Nordwestturms. Mit dem Beginn der Umgestaltung im Inneren des Doms wurde er im März 2018 in das Mittelschiff versetzt.
