The former Washita County Jail is a one and two-story stucco building constructed as a WPA project in 1940. The two-story center section has a four-step staircase with masonry sidewalls, leading to a single metal door. Windows are metal casement. To the east and west are one-story stucco wings, with metal framed windows covered with metal bars. A bronze WPA shield is mounted to the right of the door and shows 1940.

The building is currently painted a light cream with rust-colored trim. The window framing and slightly projected water table are painted rust. Beneath the windows on the center section the stucco has been carved with vertical lines for decoration. At the roof line on all four sides of the building, the stucco has been carved into a row of squares which are currently also painted rust. The current Washita County Jail is located at 400 N.. McClary Street and this building appears to be vacant at this time.
