The log lock-up was built in 1860 and moved to its present position in 1873 from the former Police Camp.. It is constructed of rough hewn logs, each approximately 30cm diameter, stacked 10 high and crossed at the corners, the floor was of similar size logs. The roof was originally clad in timber shingles. The lock-up was used for the temporary accommodation of wrong-doers and prisoners awaiting trial.
